Mr Anselm Chu is currently the Managing Director & School Director of Singapore (Cambodia) International Academy Co. Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIM Group) and Director of Project Office Cambodia and Project Office Surabaya UPH, Overseas Venture Division, SIM Global Education (SIM GE). Prior to his current role, Mr Chu was an Associate Lecturer, University of London (UOL) International Relations and Head of Career Development Office of SIM Global Education.

Mr Chu also spent more than a decade of his life in education sector and has taught at Raffles Girls' School (Secondary), NUS High School and Confucius Institute. He also took up several key positions such as Vice President of Strategic Development (China & ASEAN), Macckly Education Consultancy; Programme Director (International), College of International Education, Shandong University; Deputy CEO & Chief International Education Officer, Deming Education Investment Group (Guangzhou, China).

Mr Chu also contributed to the society through his voluntary youth service as the National Chairman of People’s Association Youth Movement; Vice President, ASEAN Youth Council; Director, Regional Advisory Board, Commonweatlh Youth Asia Centre and as the Founder of Global Youth Congress.

Ms Ng Bee Sun is a passionate and firm educator who believes in lifelong learning and innovation. After graduating from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Arts, she decided on teaching to affect a positive change in the lives of the young. Upon obtaining her Postgraduate Diploma in Education, she taught Social Studies and History. Her passion in the culture of the Southeast Asia led her to further my studies and was conferred the Master of Arts (Southeast Asian Studies) from the NUS in 2006. Ms Ng’s more than 15 years of teaching experience saw her helming diverse portfolios as the Subject Head ICT, Head of Department Student Development and School Staff Developer. In recognition of her dedication, she was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award (Individual) in 2011 and in 2013, the National Day Honours (Commendation Medal). Ms Ng is excited to be part of the pioneer team of educators to share the Singapore education and is ready to develop a whole-school character education and ICT programme that aim to inculcate values, build social-emotional competencies and ICT readiness.

Ms Kong Hwee Ling is an enthusiastic and dedicated educator with more than 18 years of teaching experience. She attained her Master Degree in Education at Boston University specialising in Developmental Studies. Prior to joining SIM Global Education, Ms Kong worked as an Educator at School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA) as a Faculty Head. For the past 8 years, Ms Kong oversaw the development and production of Grades 7 - 12 School-Based Mother Tongue Curriculum. She also played an active role in developing Student Leadership and Service Learning competencies in Raffles Girls' Secondary School in Singapore. Ms Kong was awarded the prestigious Inspiring Chinese Teacher Award in 2000. She has a wide array of Professional Development expertise in Pedagogic Training in areas of Curriculum Differentiation and Critical Thinking. She is a Certified Trainer for The Leadership Challenge and Certified Mentor for Future Problem Solving (FPS) and Community Problem Solving (CmPS).

Ismail Abdul Samat

Mr Ismail Abdul Samat attained his Bachelor Degree in Pure Mathematics at the University of Calgary, Canada in 1988. In Singapore, Mr Ismail rose to the rank of Vice Principal. From 2008 to 2016, Mr Ismail was a Principal in international schools in Indonesia spanning Pre-School, Primary and High School. He introduced many innovations in the schools which were covered extensively by the local newspapers. Mr Ismail appreciates the local culture of the countries he works in, and incorporates it creatively in the school curriculum. He has many fruitful years of working experience with staff of different nationalities. Mr Ismail is excited to be a member of SCIA’s pioneer team to introduce Singapore education system to Cambodia. With his years of experience in the education service in Singapore and abroad, he is ready to lead SCIA (Pre-School & Primary) to create waves in Phnom Penh.

Christina Choo

Prior to her current role, Ms Christina Choo was Head, Business Development in the International Development Division of SIM Global Education (SIM GE), involving in high-level business exploration, evaluation, contract negotiation and conclusion. As Assistant Manager of International Student Recruitment in SIM GE, Ms Choo drove overseas marketing and international student recruitment efforts for the institute by promoting the brand name of the group and planning for student recruitment strategies for the targeted markets. With more than a decade of experience in regional business and marketing, Ms Choo’s constant interaction with people from various levels and culture has enabled her to work well and collaboratively with diverse parties throughout the tasks and projects which she is entrusted with.

Ms Choo’s excellent interpersonal skills and heart for students also enable her to build and maintain long-lasting relationship and bonding with many parents of students whom she recruited.

Ms Choo holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore.

Baron Yong

With more than a decade of experience in various MNCs (GlaxoSmithKline, DFS) and in the Singapore government sector (IDA, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs), Mr Baron Yong has led finance departments in managing financial accounts, and in establishing and maintaining adequate internal control and procedures for financial reporting. He was also responsible for work process standardisation and streamlining to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness for the organisations he was in.

Mr Yong holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (2nd Upper Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore.

Josephine Zheng

Ms Josephine Zheng believes that every single person she meets can be successful and desires to match the right talent with the right job fit. Having spent 8 years in the higher education sector, Ms Zheng specialises in career-related coaching & competency development for undergraduates. She also led an employer engagement team to foster strong industry partnership and facilitate career and industry opportunities between employers and graduates.

Ms Zheng is a certified coach in MBTI & Workplace Big 5 Profiling. She was also awarded with Advanced Certification in Career Development Facilitation (ACCDF) by WSQ and Credentialing & Education in 2017. Her previous working experiences includes Human Resource in the shipping and healthcare industries; Marketing & Events in automobile industry; and managing media relations.

Ms Zheng holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Marketing.

Ivy Toh

Ms Ivy Toh embarked on her teaching career in Singapore more than 15 years ago as a new graduate from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Chinese Language and Psychology, having received formal teaching certification from the National Institute of Education.

In between her teaching years, Ms Toh had the opportunity to move into curriculum development at the Singapore Ministry of Education where she was involved in the planning and development of Chinese instructional materials for Singapore Primary Schools. Other than curriculum development, Ms Toh also undertook key administrative and leadership roles for the unit in the Ministry.

Back home, Ms Toh volunteers with a charity organization named “Food from the Heart”. In her free time, Ms Toh collects unsold bread from bakeries and delivers them to welfare organizations at night.

Alvin Sim

Mr Alvin Sim graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (First Class Honours in Geography) and later attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education with Distinction from the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore. In 2006, he was also the recipient of the National University of Singapore Geographical Society Gold Medal for being the top student for the Honours examination.

With over a decade of teaching experience in subjects such as English Language and the Humanities, Mr Sim has inspired students from diverse backgrounds and served as faculty head in both government schools as well as in a specialised independent school in Singapore. He has developed deep understanding of different syllabi leading to international qualifications, including the Cambridge O Level and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Mr Sim has been, and continues to be, deeply involved in curriculum making and assessment processes, and is passionate in promoting the use of brain-compatible strategies to engage students in active learning. He has also spearheaded numerous local and overseas enrichment programmes, which offer students inquiry-based and experiential learning opportunities.

Mr Sim subscribes to the life-long pursuit of knowledge and learning experiences, and it is this belief that has brought him to SCIA. He relishes the opportunity to serve the SCIA community and to contribute to inspiring future-ready global citizens who, in turn, can do their part to make the world a more humane one.
