SCIA’s Integrated School Development Framework comprises five inter-connected domains: The Curriculum Framework (The Helm), Pedagogical Framework (The Anchor), Assessment Framework (The Binoculars), Student Development Framework (The Compass) and Talent Development Framework (The Sails). Looked at in totality, the frameworks articulate SCIA’s comprehensive approach towards providing quality learning experiences for every student who passes through the doors of SCIA. SCIA students are assured of a holistic learning voyage where they are equipped with relevant skills, attitudes and knowledge that enable them to pursue endless possibilities in life.

  • CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK THE HELM

    Represented by a ship’s helm, the curriculum steers the school towards its desired course. Our students are placed in the centre, emphasising the learner-centric approach that SCIA adopts. Holistic Education, Signature Programmes (Entrepreneurship & Leadership Developments) and 21st Century competencies complete the Curriculum Framework.

  • PEDAGOGICAL FRAMEWORK THE ANCHOR

    Our Pedagogical Framework is represented by the anchor, which symbolises the school’s commitment to the constructivist approach to teaching. Anchored in a learner-centric environment, lessons are designed to be collaborative and inquiry-based, where students have the opportunity to learn in authentic and experiential settings.

  • ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK THE BINOCULARS

    Represented by the binoculars, the Assessment Framework emphasises the use of meaningful assessments (both formative and summative) to provide clarity on the process of learning, channelling useful and timely feedback to both teachers and students.

  • STUDENT DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK THE COMPASS

    The compass is used to symbolise our Student Development Framework, where students navigate towards becoming BRIGHTEST LEADERS. Students are guided to engage their Heads (knowledge), Hearts (character) and Hands (action) to make a positive impact to the world around them.

    We believe that the intentional nurturing of each student’s area of strength is imperative in order for him/her to realise his/her fullest potential.
